AGE of Central Texas and Hospice Austin are offering a Valentine of peace-of-mind by hosting the free, 2-part caregiver support seminar exploring “The GIFT of Advance Care Planning: The GIFT Project” on Saturday, February 11th, and on Saturday, February 18th. Part of the on-going workshop series to help family members effectively care for an older adult, both of the free events will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Yarborough Branch of the Austin Public Library, located at 2200 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX 78756.

The GIFT Project is an initiative of Hospice Austin to encourage advance care planning prior to a health care crisis. This interactive seminar empowers participants to identify what matters most to them and take steps to ensure their wishes are honored.

The discussion will be divided into two (2) interactive sessions. Session #1 on Feb. 11th will include how to:

• Identify your healthcare preferences

• Designate a medical power of attorney who you would like to speak for you

• Discuss your wishes with loved ones and medical providers

• Complete your Texas advance directives legal forms

Session #2 on Feb. 18th will focus on completing the Texas Advance Directives forms, with experts on-hand to help you complete the forms and answers questions about advance care planning.

Both of the sessions and legal documents are free, and the sessions are available for everyone 18 years of age and older.

Registration for the conference is free, but space is limited, so register today!
