'Getting Contract Ready' - A Project Development & Bid Writing Workshop - Wednesday 7 June 2017, 9.30 am till 3.00 pm

Follow up session on Wednesday 21st June 2017

The world of funding can often seem confusing and at times impenetrable. Funding applications and meeting the requirements of specifications and tenders can often appear complicated and the completion process a somewhat daunting task.

So with all this mind the Handsworth Association of Schools (HAS) have commissioned one of its preferred providers to deliver an introductory session and follow-up workshop around 'contract readiness'.

The session will be delivered by the facilitator using real life case studies for a forthcoming ESIF employability funding round (deadline 30/6/17) and the requirements of meeting this specification and in particular the due diligence & eligibility, financial compliance, governance & partnership arrangements, project development, monitoring & compliance, risks and finally the bid writing requirements.

So who should attend? The sessions is specifically being tailored for local community organisations, school business managers, third sector based SMEs and practitioners, and especially those that are:

(a) in the early stages of business development/ project developments and need to think about getting contract ready;

(b) looking to expand their area of business to meet employability objectives and growth within the sector;

(c) currently exploring opportunities for working effectively as a consortia/ partnership and with the aim to secure contracts and commissions to deliver outcome-led services.

The aim of this workshop will also aim to provide participants with some understanding:

  • about what types of funding is most likely to be available within the current marketplace (e. regional, national, and across the EU) especially for cross sector services?
  • Explain about how different types of project funding could be accessed and what for?
  • Explore further the potential for community anchors i.e. school, SMEs and third sector providers for working more in partnership rather than in isolation?
  • Build your confidence and increase knowledge about sourcing and completing timely funding applications, bidding for grant aid commissions and service contracts?
  • Provide some case study examples?
  • Provide you with some ‘Tips & Hints’?

So we are encouraging you to book early to secure your place.
