ADMISSION: FREE
Take a musical journey around the world to experience diverse festivals without boarding a plane, bus or train. Join us at The Gathering XIII Pt. 2, a world music concert showcasing diverse ethnic musicians and dancers in various genres. Each performance is accompanied by a brief description of a global festival; its origin and social context. Bring your dancing shoes and be ready to learn about new cultures, music, dances and food.
Our phenomenal performers have performed at our annual NYC Multicultural Festival and have also been seen on various A-List TV networks and theater productions. Our stellar line up of performers include:
Batala New York ~ an all women, high energy, visually stimulating performance of samba and reggae drumming representing the Bahian Carnival of Brazil.
Bokandeye African American Dance Company- Electrifying drums and dancers showcasing Senegal Goree Island Diaspora Festival.
Tapani Sissoko -a sensational singer representing the Mende People of Mali performing excerpts from Festival Jolie.
New York African Chorus Ensemble~ a vocal, dance and percussion ensemble performing songs inspired by the Osun- Osogbo Festival of Nigeria.
