THE FUTURE OF TOYS: A Conversation with Vincent Apollo Hopkins,
Manager of Global Toy Acquisition at Hasbro Toys

Join us for a conversation with Vincent Apollo Hopkins, Manager of Global Toy Acquisition at Hasbro, who will be in town for the Chicago Toy & Game Fair at Navy Pier on November 18–19, 2017‎.

He will be appearing at a meet, greet and intimate conversation with members of the the black creative community at the South Side Community Art Center Nov 15, 6:30 -8:30 pm. All are welcome.

The total revenue of the world toy market was 87.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, in the US alone it was 54 billion in 2016. There is a dearth of black creatives in the toy innovation field due to lack of exposure, mostly, lack of information and encouragement. This meeting with Vincent will furnish local with the requisite knowledge necessary to enter this field and provide them personal contact with a powerbroker in the field. Inventors, artists, writers of fantasy and science-fiction filmmakers and kids with toy ideas are welcome at this event but there are only 50 places, so please RSVP right away.

Vincent Apollo Hopkins
Manager of Global Toy Acquisition at Hasbro

Originally born in Los Angeles, Vincent has been all over the world. After graduating with a BA at UCLA, Vincent moved to Tokyo to obtain his MBA at Waseda University. He then became an Assistant Producer for anime in Japan, with credits including "Akiba's Trip," "Henkei Girls," "Eagle Talon vs. DC Super Heroes The Movie," and more.

Meanwhile, he also acted as the Japanese Tech Liaison for Hasbro simultaneously before joining Hasbro full-time in 2017. No matter what changes, Vincent's love of pop-culture, toys, and games has stayed the same.

What does Vincent do? He says:
“Putting it into simple terms, my job at Hasbro is to go around the world and look for new toy ideas. This means partnering with both companies and individuals on new innovations and toy concepts. What I want to really get across to aspiring people is that there really isn't a limit on people who I meet, and it's all about the concept.

I'm presently working with a 13 year old girl in Japan right now who has an awesome toy idea. If you have a good idea that you're passionate about, I'm here to listen."
