The Future of Money
Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)
Mountain View, CA
Walk-in tickets will be available at the door!
Cryptocurrencies, virtual economies, and electronic money are all interesting topics, and all potentially disruptive forces that present existential threats to the once-formidable financial institutions of our society. All Columbia alumni and parents in the Bay Area are invited to discuss and learn about new ventures being formed, their impact on our lives, and the future of money.
Dean Mary C. Boyce of Columbia Engineering will moderate a discussion with Chris Dixon ’96GS, partner at Andreessen Horowitz, Ben Milne, CEO of Dwolla, and Steven Bellovin, Columbia University Professor of Computer Science and Chief Technology Officer at the Federal Trade Commission (2012–2013). Click here to read bios of our speakers and demo teams.
As always, the night will conclude with a demo showcase featuring Columbia-affiliated startups. Bring your business cards and get ready to network!
