A memoir, personal history, or special occasion narrative – printed or electronic – will be a treasured legacy for family, friends and generations to

come. This course will guide students through the communication techniques and formats for capturing and preserving their life story, special memory or ongoing journal. Students will learn about the writing process and story elements such as structure, beginnings and endings, and narrative flow as well as learning how to enhance stories with dialogue, description, personal reflection and editing. Students will also explore ideas about how to handle versions of truth and boundaries of disclosure.
