About this event

The Friday Forum: The Role of Biomarkers in Personalized Healthcare: Delivering the Right Therapies to the Right Patients at the Right Time, presented by BioOhio in partnership with The American Cancer Society, Amgen, Genentech, and Pfizer.

About this event:

Biomarker testing promises to revolutionize the way we detect, diagnose and deliver treatments for serious illnesses like cancer. Researchers, providers, and patient advocates will explore the role of biomarker testing in precision medicine, shed light on the challenges that still hamper patient access, and detail the steps we can take to expand patient access to testing.

Our guest speakers will include leading researchers, medical experts, and most importantly patient perspectives - all speaking about the benefits of incorporating biomarker testing into the diagnostic process.

Dr. Regan Memmott, MD, PhD, Oncologist specializing in lung cancer, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Key Takeaways:

This educational session will answer these key questions and more:

  • What is a biomarker and how does it affect a patient’s clinical care?
  • Why is the use of biomarker testing lagging behind the clinical guidelines recommendations and how can we improve patient access?
  • Is biomarker testing being used for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases beyond cancer?

This event is made possible through the hard work and dedication of our educational partners: The American Cancer Society, Amgen, Pfizer, and Genentech. We thank them for their assistance in the planning, content, and execution of this event.
