Breakout Sessions (Choose One):

"I'm here ..."

This presentation will highlight Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance's "I'm here" program and focus on supporting individuals living with mood disorders. Participants who register early will receive pin kits but all are encouraged to participate and make their own pins.

Bouncing Back; Our Youth Before, During and After a Pandemic

This presentation will highlight youth issues throughout the pandemic and how we can support our teens. A look at current youth mental health and substance use trends and how our youth have been finding ways to positively cope.

Navigating the Paradoxes of the Pandemic

This program will address the dislocation of the pandemic in terms of changes in identity, rapid changes in roles, isolation/loneliness and shifts in locus of control. It will also address the increase in substance use along with alternative coping strategies. Counseling strategies that are strengths-based, build capacity and self-care will be discussed for both clients and counselors.


Closing Session:

Coping with Loss and Grief During Covid

Grief is a natural response to loss, and feelings of loss are compounded during a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic.  We will identify common reactions to grief, discuss the impact of the pandemic on our grief processes, and identify five guideposts for facilitating our grief process and helping others.

Tribute to Kate Mahoney - We are so grateful for Kate’s contributions to the mental health and addictions fields, our community, and to us personally. Reflections on her many gifts are shared.
