Gray Face Acres Senior Dog Rescue & Retreat in Haymarket, VA

We have been rescuing and fostering dogs for the last 13 years and during that time have noticed a need for taking care of senior dogs who have ended up in shelters or who can no longer be cared for by their owners.  In April of 2016 we founded Gray Face Acres Senior Dog Rescue and Retreat to address that need.  Our mission is simple:  To provide the care and comfort of a home and family to senior dogs who have been abandoned or left behind in shelters.  We work with many local shelters, taking in their senior dogs who have medical issues, special needs, or whose chances to be adopted through the shelter system would be very slim.  Some stay with us as hospice dogs, some go into our group of foster homes, and most get adopted into loving forever homes.  We feel very strongly that it is not an option to leave these  seniors in a shelter in their final days, weeks, or months and our growing network of foster and hospice homes are helping us fulfill our mission.  We are a home-based, all volunteer 501c(3) charity, completely funded by ourselves and our very generous donors.
