About this Event

With the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, the Supreme Court has shifted from a 5-4 to a 6-3 conservative majority. This is the most conservative court we have had in 70 years.. Now that election day is over, our work continues. Now is not the time to become complacent, we have to continue to stay vigilant about our rights and take a stand against those who will try to strip us of these rights.

Please join us for a FREE virtual screening of the film The Fight (2020). This film follows some of the legal battles lawyers at the ACLU have faced during the previous white house administration; including the battle for abortion access, which has major implications for the work of the Desert Star Institute for Family Planning. As the ACLU fights battles in the courts for Reproductive Freedom, we do our part to train the future generation of abortion providers and educate the public to be empowered to make informed decisions regarding their reproductive health.

We are excited to be joined by our special guest and deputy director of the ACLU’s Reproductive Freedom Project, Brigitte Amiri! She is highlighted in the film and we will have a discussion and Q&A session with Brigitte following the film screening.
