President George H.W. Bush nominated Judge Means to the federal bench in the Northern District of Texas, on July 24, 1991. He was confermined on October 31, 1991 and recently took senior status. Born in Roswell, New Mexico, Judge Means received his B.A. from Sourthern Methodist University in 1971 and his J.D. from Sourthern Methodist University School of Law in 1974. He practiced law in Corsicana, Texas from 1974 to 1989 and served on the Texas Court of Appeals from 1989 to 1991. He is a member of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court.
