The Feast of Sekhmet is inspired by an ancient celebration that saw people coming together to honor the power Sekhmet. Sekhmet, the powerful one, is a fiery energy and we take this opportunity to invoke that fire to fuel and motivate us during the cold winter months, when normally the dreariness of the season might threaten to bring our mood and energy down.
One of the most significant portions of the evening involves a ceremony where we burn away the unhealthy traits and habits that have plagued us, asking Sekhmet to purge us of that which holds us back so that we have the power to proceed.
We reenact the story of Sekhmet - how the people disobeyed Ra; how He created Sekhmet to punish them; how Her bloodlust was uncontrollable and Djehuty stepped in to use His wisdom to subdue Her - and everyone is encouraged to participate.
In honor of NTRT Sekhmet, all those in attendance are asked to wear her colors of red & gold. Dress code is semi-formal attire.
Tickets: $35 single, $60 couple. Teens $15, Kids free.

When & Where
Temple of Anu
The Temple of Anu is an Afra-Kemetic based spiritual house where we are committed to the outward cultural expression of internal spiritual goals and objectives.
By devoting ourselves to divine and sacred principles we learn to transcend the tendency of living life based on narrow and negative traumas, complexes and issues. Our curriculum is designed to develop one's character and personal power which results in heightened awareness.
The objective is to serve NTR or NeTeR through ancient as well as modern ceremony, both as a collective and as individuals. Initiates and supporters of the Temple of Anu innerstand that successful nation building cannot take place until each individual successfully raises his/her present spiritual consciousness.
