Description

*OCTOBER 6th: THE FATHERHOOD FREQUENCY (MELS AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE)

Join The InTune Mother Project to be a part of our October IHOP Poetry event. We are excited that we were able to kick off our last two events by accentuating the cultural arts, with the youth at our August First Friday and Infant Mortality at our September event. We will continue to support our youth by centering our mission around Early Childhood Education and the born and yet unborn. Our mission for the month of October is to bring more awarness to the ills of Domestic Violence and how this affects the community as a whole.

Did you know that most cases of domestic violence take place during the prenatal period.Domestic violence and maternal mortality are linked because some women die from domestic violence while pregnant or during the period following the end of pregnancy.

Did you know that almost one out of five or 16.3% of murder victims in the U.S. were killed by an intimate partner; women account for two out of three murder victims killed by an intimate partner.

As part of The Greener Birth Initiative, we strive to make sure that we offer a sustainable environment for a well thought out education model, that embodies social entrepreneurship, cooperative economics, and cultural empowerment. By remembering to uphold an image of sustainability among all people, with a core focus on the childbearing community of color--

Our slogan is WE GROW HUMANS!

Our mission is simple:

  • To make preconception education holistic and about more than contraception.

  • To make pregnancy and birth a supported act of intuitive consciousness.

  • To make postpartum care a Rites of Passage for the entire community to experience.

  • To make early childhood education as organic and gentle as the art of being born.

We are inviting you to join our global mission to share in the legacy of Culture and Community once a month at The TIM Center via The Sugar Loaf Lounge, as we present to you (IHOP) INTERNATIONAL HOUSE OF POETRY. Over the next 4 months, with your support we are able to expand our message of motherhood, fatherhood, parenthood, childhood, and familyhood. To bring more awareness to the importance of early prenatal care as a preventative behavior through the 4th trimester well into early childhood devopment. The the promoting of communal literacy, while creating a space for families, social activists, advocates, and members of the community, to facilitate their artistry through a cultural, creative, and communally dynamic way.

NOTE: Our work is more than BirthKeeping at The TIM Center... As we understand, bing a TRUE BirthKeeper is about Culture Keeping. This is how we create innovative solutions to unresolved social programming in the community as a whole- Those born as well as those yet to be born.

So come and celebrate through art, music, networking and good food, as we continue to expand our community centered wellness initiative, designed with and International Community in mind.

Come and learn how you can become a part of the REBIRTH of Culture Keeping in the realm of conscious creativity, culture, and community.
