Event description
Join us October 15th for our first supper club of the fall season - The Fall of Rome.

About this Event

This dinner will focus on one of the most pivitol periods of Roman history, as the Republic collapsed and the Empire emerged. Diners will be led through a gustatory timeline of events, as republican ideals of democracy slowly corroded and eventually gave way to the dictatorial style of the Caesars who commanded the largest empire the world had ever seen.

Our founder and resident historian, Victoria Flexner, will delve into the daily life of Roman citizens; their eating habits, daily routines and living conditions, painting a detailed portrait of what life was really like in Ancient Rome. Our Executive Chef Jay Reifel will entertain guests with the elaborate and theatrical dishes of the period; edible mosaics of seafood, Trimalchio’s Pig, pearled wine and honey cakes and a taste of the madness that plagued Emperor Domitian with a sampling of dishes from his infamous ‘Dinner Party From Hell.’

Each ticket includes a five-course feast and wine pairings.

Due to the historically accurate nature of the evening’s menu, no dietary restrictions or accommodations can be made.
