The Fairy Garden Trail - 2022
Event Information
About this event
This year the Fairy Garden Trail will take place at the enchanted woods at the Wayside Inn! Stroll along the trail and search for the many little fairy homes tucked among rocks or at the base of a tree. The homes come in many sizes and shapes, and each has its own special magic. Members of the Thursday Garden Club of Sudbury and friends made these houses out of natural materials, such as bark, pinecones, stones, and sticks, supplemented with craft supplies. We hope you enjoy exploring the fairy world as much as we enjoyed creating it!
Use the scavenger hunt to help you notice the details of the fairy homes and gardens, stop by the Story Tree to hear a story about fairies, and enter Longfellow’s Garden for the bake sale of fairy treats, fairy house raffle, and sale of books by Liza Gardner Walsh, the author of the rhyming fairy tales and several books on how to build a fairy house. At the Wayside Inn Foundation table, you can learn about Priscilla Staples, one of the Ford Era hostesses who wrote a poem about her dress that made her feel like a fairy queen. Finally, don’t forget to have your picture taken with our own Fairy Queen!
This event will be held rain or shine and tickets are not refundable.
Last year’s event was a sell-out weeks prior to the event so get your tickets early. Tickets are being sold with timed entry. Tickets for entry are available for every 30 minutes. It is anticipated that attendees will spend on average 60-90 minutes at this event.
