The Fabulous Felting Workshop

Take a stab at needle felting! We are making two-dimensional art using the felting on felt method. We’ll add layers with additional felt and wool roving (the fluffy fibers that make up wool yarn). Needle felting uses special needles with a jagged edge that binds all the layers together. We’ll provide all the materials and tools for use during the workshop.

Lauren Heather Lay is a mixed media and textile artist living in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is particularly at home with a needle in her hand, whether pulling thread for stitching and embroidery or stabbing fibers into fabric. Lauren is inspired by nature and story. She loves texture and color and interpreting the same image in different mediums.
