The 'extraordinary environment' treasure hunt
Event Information
Description
This hands-on outdoor treasure hunt will get kids to thinking about how their everyday activities - from travelling to school, to eating their lunch - relate to the environment and the idea of 'sustainability'.
What to expect? The treasure hunt will begin with a storyteller telling an adventure story that needs to be solved. Hunters will solve the puzzles and clues to unearth secret treasure and to learn about how the things they do every day involve more than meets the eye...
Who should join the hunt? Children aged 4-12, accompanied by an adult.
Is there a charge to attend? No; the event has been sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council and is therefore absolutely free to attend.
What treasure will we be hunting for? Healthy and fairtrade snacks, toys, sustainable gadgets and other fun prizes
When will we be hunting? Saturday 1 November - the hunt will start at 2:30 so arrive a little earlier if you can.
Where will the hunt take place? Mill Road Cemetery, Mill Road, Cambridge CB1 2AW
Do I need to register? Yes please do. If you tern up on the day without registering you may be turned away.
Who can I contract for more information? Julie-Anne Hogbin on 01223 695108 or julie-anne.hogbin@anglia.ac.uk.

When we ran the event in 2012 we had unanimously positive feedback from the over 100 adults and children who took part in the action packed afternoon, such as “Very exciting and fun event. The whole family enjoyed it, and we learned a lot too.” With one 6 year old hunter saying “I learnt we need to keep our environment safe.”
