Event Details

Folks!

The first show at Evergreen House (about three years ago) was a special tribute to the Everly Brothers performed by one of my favorite Independent Artists, Sean Altman, and his partner, Jack Skuller! It not only sold out but we had 7 people standing or sitting on the stairs!

They call this show....

The Everly Set

Acclaimed NYC-based singer-songwriters Sean Altman and Jack Skuller pay tribute to a pair of their rock heroes.  Come sing along to Bye Bye Love, Cathys Clown, Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, When Will I Be Loved, Crying In The Rain, Til I Kiss You, Love Hurts, Bird Dog, Claudette, Let It Be Me, Devoted To You and many more Everly (and Everly-influenced) classics.

Ex-Rockapella star Sean Altman is "tuneful and sharply witty" (LA Times) and "relentlessly clever" (Chicago Tribune), with catchy melodies, clever arrangements and lyrics that yield satiric gems (Washington Post), combining "the tunefulness of the Beatles and the spot-on wit of Tom Lehrer (Boston Globe) with a silky tenor voice that produced chills (NY Times). Altman, widely regarded as the Father of Modern A Capella, co-founded and led Rockapella on the Emmy-winning PBS-TV series "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?", for which he co-wrote the theme song.  He currently sings a cappella with The GrooveBarbers and Doowopera, original pop songs on guitar as a solo artist and original comedy songs as JEWMONGOUS.

Jack Skuller is the 2014 recipient of the Holly Prize, an award made possible by the Songwriters Hall of Fame as a tribute to the legacy of Buddy Holly. He's received press coverage in the NY Post, Examiner, Teen Vogue, J-14, and American Songwriter Magazine among many others. The Deli Magazine wrote, Jack Skuller is a teen idol in the wrong era. Buddy Holly would be proud. Skuller has performed his original music around the country with Radio Disney. He is a regular performer with the acclaimed Losers Lounge tribute series at Joes Pub in NY. His latest singles have been released on indie label Mint 400 Records.

Ahrre Maros is the owner of Ahrre's Coffee Roastery in Downtown Westfield and Summit (New Jersey), a business he founded in February of 1990. He is also the former Artistic Director and Host of the Coffee With Conscience Concert Series in Westfield, New Jersey, which ran for 15 years until its current Hiatus.

Unable to kick his music addiction, he now presents concerts in his living room and has his guests bring all the food, move his furniture around and pay for the priveledge! He calls this Evergreen House Concerts.

Regardless of what food shows up, the music and coffee are always EXCEPTIONAL!
