Greg Harbar is a well-known musician, the master of accordion and guitar. The Gypsy music has been a passion of Mr. Harbar for decades.
He is a founder and a leader of famous band The Gypsies. The band's first high-profile performance was at a downtown gala for the Alley Theater in 1973.Greg Harbar is also known to Houstonians as an organizer of annual Julian New Year’s Party; he is doing it for almost 40 years.
Mr. Harbar participates in conferences dedicated to Gypsy and folk music. He gathered vast collection of unique recordings.
Greg Harbar will share some of his treasures with the public. He will also give a presentation about the roots and history of Gypsy music.
Barry Roberts is the member of The Gypsies band and an avid lover of folk music. Ukrainian violinist Vladimir Kotsiouruba is a skilled musician and has played with Greg Harbar at various occasions for years.
