Event description
This stage play depicts the life and times of world renown American artist Ernie Barnes.

About this Event

The Ernest Palette is about African American artist Ernie Barnes, who was born in the South during the Jim Crow era, bullied by classmates, and exemplified modest athletic ability. Despite the odds, he rose to become a professional football player for several professional teams and a world renown artist best known for his painting “Sugar Shack” often seen on the TV show “Good Times” , 1984 Olympic Games posters, The Drum Major, Fastbreak and many more. He was an actor, dignified statesman, and humanitarian with a sense of humor. His life is inspirational and demonstrates the power of passion, vision, and being true to yourself.
