Event description

Description

The Enneagram, influenced by earlier teachings of 19th century mystic-philosopher, George Gurdjieff, is a model showing the different behaviors, virtues and shadow sides of the human psyche. The enneagram is principally understood and taught as a typology of nine interconnected personality types. In Greek Ennea means nine and gram means point, so the nine personality types are represented by the points and their connections on the Enneagram’s stunning geometric figure.

Lecture (9:00am-12:00pm): In the morning lecture, Sandy will give an overview of the Enneagram system and the benefits of understanding the Enneagram for yourself and for those around you. You’ll be introduced to the nine personality types or archetypes of the Enneagram. Carl Jung viewed archetypes through the lens of Ego, Soul and Self that have inborn tendencies that play a role in influencing human behavior. You will have the opportunity of taking a short Enneagram test to determine your personality Enneagram archetype.

Workshop (1:00-4:00pm): In the afternoon workshop, Sandy will outline motivations and levels of development of each Enneagram type, including underlying fears and needs of each. Having learned our Enneagram type in the morning session, we will as a group explore these varying archetypes and their influences upon our behavior and interactions with others.
