Event description

Description

A utopia is a perfect world, a heaven-on-earth fantasy that does not exist. A dystopia is the opposite: a twisted society that degrades the dignity and freedom of the human person. In this course, we will read and discuss dystopian literature—how it developed as a literary genre, it conventions and formulas, and the best examples from the past one hundred years….from Orwell’s 1984 to the current craze of dystopian fictions like The Hunger Games, The City of Ember, and others.

Time: 1:00—3:00pm

Cost: $78.
