Event description

Description

The first half of life we construct an ego. The second half of life we deconstruct the ego.

This lecture will reflect on the process of individuation, whereby the ego is subordinated to the Self. The Self is a paradoxical concept, at one and the same time the essence and totality of the psyche. Jung referred to the Self as the "Imago Dei," the Image of God. This lecture will emphasize the psycho/spiritual nature of Individuation and the structure and dynamic of the psyche.

This will be a 90-minute lecture with no break. Please bring newsprint and markers.

J. Pittman McGehee, D.D. is an Episcopal priest and Jungian analyst in private practice in Austin, Texas.
