Event description

Description

This class is specifically for friends or family members who are seeking to be appointed - not professionals. Please see the ASAGA website for options for professionals. This live class provides a detailed overview of your responsibilities once appointed as guardian or conservator. Those who should attend are individuals, friends or family members who have been appointed or are thinking of being appointed as a guardian or conservator for an adult. If you are only petitioning and do not wish to be appointed, please review the How to Petition webinar on our website at www.asaga.info or contact ASAGA for more information. The class will cover the basic duties, how to make decisions as a guardian or conservator, Alaska statutes as well as the adopted National Guardianship Standards of Practice. Lastly, we'll cover your annual report to the court and provide a resource for ongoing questions pertaining to your guardianship. This class will meet your one hour of education requirement for the Court. Due to the size of the room, we can only accommodate 8 participants each month.

If you are not in the Anchorage area, we do offer this class via webinar the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm to 8:30. Please register on the webinar site.
