Event description

Description

Come to an informal round table conversation with other senior public relations and communicators to launch a global idea - the Dublin Conversation - to discover powerful new ideas and thinking that can transform how you do PR and Comms - and a chance to have your say about your industry's future.

Revolutions in digital technology and psychology have created a new world for PR and communications. Yet, is your thinking that drives your doing ‘old school’?

There’s a new draft ‘Dublin Definition’ offering better thinking, a better toolkit, and a vision of what we can deliver in PR and communications. It enables you to go forward with greater self-belief, sense of purpose, and above all confidence.

Like the film the Matrix we have a choice of two options: a PR unfit for the future, doing things the same way, uncertain of itself or its future. Or there’s a self-confident PR and communications with a strong sense of belief and purpose, fitter for the future, leading the way for others to follow.

There’s never been a more critical time for our society for a redefined, revitalized, and recharged public relations and communications to address its major challenges.

Every conversation adds new ideas, deeper thinking or new dimensions., We need more conversations. The draft ‘Dublin Definition’, offering new thinking, theory and inspiration, aims to start the conversation off.

As fate would have it, there’s a big international PR and Comms conference in October - the ICCO Global Summit, yes in Dublin. This seems an obvious place to present any resulting new thinking and doing as a result of our conversations.

Public Relations and communications faces choices of:

  1. Reaffirm existing definitions of what we do.
  2. Help grow the new draft ‘Dublin Definition’ as a new, better alternative.
  3. Come up with even better alternatives which we need to be open to.

Can you join the ‘Dublin Conversation’? Are you going to accept your world as it is? Or are you going to change it for the better? We’re listening. We need to have a conversation. Join us.
