BACKGROUND
Monica Anderson Young
Global Technology Innovation & Engagement Catalyst

A varied career path brought Monica Anderson Young to AIG, a journey driven by a desire to help others, teams and projects flourish. Before joining AIG’s Global Innovation team, Monica drove engagement and strategic communications for the Americas IT group within AIG, a team of nearly 2,500 members spanning multiple locations across North and South Americas as well as India. Her career journey has included owning Assisted Communications, a boutique communications firm specializing in branding, marketing, strategy design and implementation. A writer for many years, Monica authored “Young Reading with Monica Young” for the Winston-Salem Journal, a monthly children’s/young adult book review column distributed by the Berkshire Hathaway media group and featured monthly for several years on WGHP, a local news station in North Carolina.

Monica has been honored for her volunteer work, receiving the Kernersville, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year on two different occasions and recently being awarded the key to the city, the second person to receive this honor in town history. She enjoys traveling, reading and SEC college football with her three daughters and husband.

She received a dual degree in English and Secondary Language Arts from the University of Central Florida and received her master’s degree in Global Strategic Communications from Georgetown University where she was named Top 30 Hoya Professional.
