NYC Premiere Screening

The inaugural New York Baltic Film Festival continues with a screening of The Dissidents. This film follows a trio of Estonians who, influenced by the likes of "Miami Vice" reruns and starstruck by Western culture, escape Soviet occupation by fleeing to Sweden. Greeted as heros, the three initially celebrate their freedom. But when their 15 minutes of fame fades and they are forced to make their way in a new world, the three begin to realize that the real world is nothing like TV. (92 min. Estonia, 2017. In Estonian with English subtitles)
