Target Audience:

Businesses that are pursuing government contracts and are already familiar with the fundamental concepts. This course material is specific to the state/local market.


Certification as a DBE may provide greater opportunities for businesses to bid on state or federal contracts. The very basic qualifications include that a company must be a small business, owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. This webinar will address some benefits as well as the other requirements/eligibility for the DBE certification such as:

Business size, ownership, financial requirements, onsite reviews, renewals, denial of certification, etc.

Information about the DOT's Small Business Program will also be discussed.

Time will be reserved for questions from the participants regarding the certification process, potential benefits of the program, etc. This webinar will be facilitated by Danny Wagener, Compliance Officer, Civil Rights Bureau, at the Iowa Department of Transportation
