Good tidings, merry folk! Ready your winter spirit, once more, for a festive charity crawl through the holiday streets of downtown Portland, benefitting The Children's Book Bank! Hosts Travis Gardner and Jeff Rosick will guide you to and from four establishments in the heart of the Rose City. Libations, conversation, laughter and prizes await as we brave the chilly air for good fun and a good cause!
We are excited to announce that this year, we've secured a private venue for our fourth and final stop! After a brief 5-10 minute bus ride from our third stop, we invite you to take off your coats and celebrate with beer, wine and festive bites that are all included in your ticket purchase, at Opal28 (just 2 miles away, on NE 28th & Glisan). There will also be a full bar, with cocktails available for purchase. At Opal28, we'll also announce the evening's winner of a $100 cash prize, as well host a silent auction for framed pacific northwest-inspired artwork (the proceeds of which will go to The Children's Book Bank).
With your ticket purchase, you afford yourself:
- A charitable donation to The Children's Book Bank
- A red plaid holiday scarf and festive brooch (so as to better celebrate you as part of our joyous band)
- A drink of your choice at our first stop
- Private bus transportation to our private Dickens Crawl venue
- Food, beer and wine at private venue
LIMITED TICKETS, LIMITED TIME!
Please be aware that there are only 55 tickets available, and must be purchased by Tuesday, November 15 @ 11:59 PM for preparation purposes. All sales are final.
ARRIVAL & ATTIRE
Our party will assemble at 3:40 PM in front of the Christmas tree at Pioneer Courthouse Square for a prompt 4PM departure. As this is a crawl involving many people, it is important that we depart on-time, as a group. Also, please dress comfortably for the weather. It can grow quite cold, so dressing in layers works best. If you are new this year, the names of the first three stops will be revealed to you upon arrival, but rest assured they are only minutes apart, on foot. See you at 3:40 PM!
We recommend using Uber, Lyft or a taxi to return home from Opal28, or to wherever you may have parked downtown. Opal28 also offers a 25-space parking lot across the street, if you'd prefer to park at Opal28 before the crawl begins, then Uber/Lyft/Taxi to Pioneer Courthouse Square in time to start the crawl.
We look forward to seeing you there, and until then, stay safe and be merry!
A bit about The Children's Book Bank:
"When books are readily available at home, children spend more time reading—with their parents or on their own—developing the literacy skills needed to succeed in school. This in turn leads to improved education for all students, higher literacy and graduation rates, and stronger communities."
