"Succession in the Church: Leading at the Crossroads of Stewardship and Discipleship."
A century has passed since the renewals of Topeka, Kansas, and Azusa Street. The works pioneered throughout the 20th century are now the multigenerational works of the 21st century. Succession is required for a work to succeed its pioneering generation. The church must have a holistic view of succession planning and management, recognizing that it is crucial for every leadership level in the church and not just the senior pastor and that it must be the norm for established organizations. Success in the church is more than an essential component of organizational leadership; it fulfills biblical principles such as stewardship and discipleship.
Brent Coltharp is the Lead Pastor of the First Apostolic Church of Aurora (FAC Aurora), the District Superintendent of the Illinois District, President of Urshan College (UC) and Urshan Graduate School of Theology, and an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI). Married to Rachel Coltharp (best decision ever). Brent and Rachel have four children.
