About this event

The Damnwells

The Damnwells were an indie rock band originally from Brooklyn, New York. The band formed in 2000 and released five full-length albums,. The original members of the Damnwells were Alex Dezen (lead vocals, guitar, piano), David Chernis (lead guitar), Ted Hudson (bass), and Steven Terry (drums/percussion). Over their 16 year career, they toured extensively throughout the United States and had numerous television and radio appearances.

Luke Sital-Singh

Luke Sital-Singh is an internationally acclaimed singer songwriter from the UK. In 2012 he released his debut single Fail For You, which first introduced to the world Luke’s deft ability to craft songs with a mesmerising and emotional quality. The song went on to be used in numerous TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy. At the end of 2013 Luke was featured in the BBC’s sound of 2014 list and signed to Parlophone records who released his debut record ‘The Fire Inside’ later that year.
After a couple of years extensively touring the world, opening for artist such as Villagers, The Staves, Martha Wainwright and Kodaline, in 2017 Luke released his sophomore record Time Is A Riddle, which featured stand out song Killing Me. This song further presented Luke’s deep and empathetic songwriting skill. His third album, A Golden State, was released in April 2019. Written in the lead up to his relocation to Los Angeles, the newest batch of songs delve deep into themes of age anxiety, marriage and dreaming of a life in another place, with a renewed state of mind.
His songs are rich and somber and have the tendency to stop you in your tracks. Of his songwriting Luke says “I like writing about the heavy things. There’s a lot of shallow stuff out there. My fun is diving as deep as I can. Inside myself and, if I can, inside others and writing songs that are as honest as I can make them. Honest to the struggles we all face, the sadness but more importantly, the hope.”
