The Current State of Insider Trading Law*
Speaker: Professor Jonathan Rohr, Cardozo School of Law
Description: Please join us for a discussion of the current state of insider trading law! Professor Rohr will explain how the theories of insider trading began and how they have evolved over time. From Mark Cuban to Martha Stewart and everything in between, this exciting talk will cover the roadmap of insider trading cases and laws through the most recent Supreme Court case on the topic. No prior knowledge is required or expected.
Professor Rohr is an alum and current professor at Cardozo. Prior to joining the faculty at Cardozo, he practiced commercial litigation, primarily as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. While in practice, Professor Rohr focused on corporate governance and structure, directors’ and officers’ liability insurance, and bankruptcy litigation. While a student at Cardozo, he was the Senior Articles Editor of the Cardozo Law Review and was a member of the Bet Tzedek clinic.
