Description

Come meet artist and author Josie Iselin as she reads from her beautiful new book - The Curious World of Seaweed - Sunday September 15th from 1-3 PM (reading at 1:30). We have carried Josie's wonderful ocean photography books here from day one, and it's a true joy to welcome her presence here! My favorite natural science author, Mary Ellen Hannibal, has this to say about Josie's new work:

"Who knew seaweed portraiture could probe the deepest mysteries of existence? Josie Iselin’s wonderful new book explores a world just below the surface. One wonder is that seaweed performs such a vital role in the ecosystem, literally helping power life on Earth. Another wonder is its shape-shifting colors and crazy symmetries, which Iselin’s singular photography pops to life. Her text puts seaweed in a historical framework full of surprising stories. The result is an adventure through art, science, and pure pleasure.”—Mary Ellen Hannibal, author of Citizen Scientist

You can purchase a signed copy of Josie's new book, or several of her previous publications, as well as her notecards and algae print scarves. Free event, all welcome, but space is limited - reserving a spot is encouraged!
