The Cumbieros are a Seattle-born multi-national cumbia band made up of talented musicians from Chile, Brazil and North America. Featuring such instruments as violin, accordion, guiro, guitar and horns, The Cumbieros fuse traditional and contemporary South American cumbia with the modern sounds of ska and rock, creating fun, high-energy music that drives everyone to the dance floor. Cumbia is a genre of music/dance that originated in Colombia and is now extremely popular all across Latin America.
DBST cultivates an unparalleled sound blending blues, rock, and funk grooves. With frontman Sam Pohl's high energy compositions and genuine lyrical style, DBST produces an energetically compelling sound. In its inception, Pohl, along with David Himlie, guitar, and original drummer Ben Darin, worked rigorously to build a foundation upon which this group could grow. Desiring a more complex sound, the sophisticated stylings of Dave Van Zandt on guitar and bass were added. The final additions of trumpeter and vocalist Danielle Westbrook and percussionists Aaron Shively and Alek Gayton has completed the transformation of this former trio into a well-rounded musical genus that is sure to please the most discerning of tastes.
When it comes to putting groove in your shoes and sting in your step, Breaks & Swells has what it takes to keep you dancing all night long. Always in full form and ready to make a crowd swing and swoon over the smoky-sweet vocals of Marquetta Miller paired with the crisp and clean delivery of her band always leaves audiences shaken and stirred with hip riffs and gruesome grooves.
