On the second Thursday of each month, The Corner brings live storytelling to downtown Lewiston. In a style reminiscent of The Moth, the show features 10 storytellers, most local, telling true, first-person stories, without notes, each for five minutes or less. All stories each night are on a common theme. Our fourth season continues with the "Disillusioned" installment of The Corner. For more information on the theme, and how you can possibly tell a story, visit the Corner website. Even if you don't plan to tell a story, come join us in the audience. During the workshop, you'll get to tell a story to your neighbor in the audience, and then you can enjoy the tellers on stage.
The majority of seating will go on a first come, first served basis, and will be free. But we are also offering this special opportunity. A small number of seats will be set aside and reserved (just 10 this first time we try this). If you want to guarantee you'll get in, just get one of these tickets (while they last) and arrive at the venue no later than 6:40pm. We'll hold your seat until then (but will have to release to people on the waiting list after then). To claim one of these guaranteed seats, you'll need to pay $6.00 (plus Eventbrite's modest fees). The Corner will split the proceeds with Guthries restaurant. LIMIT TWO TICKETS UNDER THE SAME NAME. (Seriously. Excess orders will be canceled. We have to spread this opportunity around, to be fair.) But even if you don't get a ticket, remember that most seats are available that night on a first come, first served basis, for free. So come--but come early.
See you on The Corner.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
As we always tell the audience, The Corner routinely features stories with adult language and adult themes. But we trust adult audience members to decide for themselves whether to attend, and whether to bring children with them. Use your best judgment. Unaccompanied children aren't permitted, but those with an adult are.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Outside food and beverage are not permitted. We're in a restaurant, so we must respect them, especially since they can get in trouble if outside food or beverage comes in.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Email the Corner organizers at email@example.com. Indeed, we especially want to hear from you if you have a story to pitch.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please either bring a printed copy of your ticket OR, if you have a smartphone with ample battery supply, you may bring your ticket on the phone. Just make sure your name is visible on it.
What if I don't get a ticket in advance?
Do still come. Most seats will be available first come, first served that night.
