The Liquor Store cordially invites you to attend our next experiential pop-up supper, "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover"  on Saturday, October 21st, 2017. Our theme for this month will be the brutal and stunning 1989 Peter Greenaway cinematic masterpiece by the same name. A prix fixe eight-course tasting menu will be served within a dining space that has been dramatically staged to mimic the elegance (and horror) of the titular cook's restaurant, "Le Hollandais" all while Michael Nyman's haunting score sets the mood.

We encourage all guests to watch  "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover" and come dressed in an elaborate ensemble inspired by legendary costumer and designer Jean-Paul Gautier.

About Us

In 2013, Steven and his business partner Donald Rainwater founded The Liquor Store, an experiential pop-up supper club featuring global comfort foods, modern techniques, and traditional practices centered around history, literature and cinema. Our ingredients are locally sourced, organic and sustainable. Each event is themed not only culinarily, but also in ambiance and service. Guest participation is integral to the success of every Liquor Store event, and all attendees are strongly encouraged to research the theme of each dinner before attending, dress in costume and generally prepare themselves for a dinner experience that is theatrical, avant-garde and intimate.
