The Conversation Series: Episode 1

COWOP (Community Organizing to Withstand Oppression and Poverty) is a collective with a mission to link African American community members together to share, cultivate, and hone their skills, gifts and talents to enrich future generations with the wherewithal to thrive economically and academically. The vision of this initiative is that, in spite of predisposed socioeconomic circumstance, all African American families will be provided access to the local education and resources necessary to create and sustain generational wealth, while funneling their resources back into their local communities.
The Conversation Series: Episode 1 is an open forum designed to trigger thoughtfulness and consciousness amongst members of the African American community via a panel discussion centered around the current state of the African American community and the means by which we can improve said communities. The sessions are intended to educate, empower and unite multigenerational members of the black community. This session can be considered a meeting of the minds and a meshing of the hearts. Discussion topics for the first of the series include: It Starts at Home: Prevent Rather than Respond; The Black Value of Green; We Must be our Why - The African American Community (Then, Now and Tomorrow).
