Description

Nonprofit organizations who currently or would like to collaborate with area colleges and universities are invited to join the WNY Service-Learning Coalition and YNPN Greater Bflo for an important listening and working session on Thursday, May 24 , 8:30am-12:00pm at Daemen College as part of the 2018 Service-Learning Faculty Fellows Training.

Dr. Edward Zlotkowski, recipient of the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Association for Research on Service Learning and Civic Engagement, will facilitate a listening session panel with area nonprofit leaders, followed by a series of exercises to help provide insight and understand ways to make a difference in your community working with your resources.

This event is co-hosted by the WNY Service-Learning Coaliton and YNPN Greater Bflo.

Agenda:

8:30-9:00am- Check In and light breakfast

9:00am- Introductions and overview of listening session format

9:30am- Discussion from panelists addressing:

  • What are the most important issues currently facing the commmunity?
  • How would you like to see local college/universities collboarate with you to address these issues?

10:30am- Small group work: Community and campus inventories

11:15am- Plenary sharing and next steps

12:00pm- Conclusion
