Event description

Description

At the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music we cultivate, and promote the intersection of visual art and music. "Oakuba: The Rhythm of the Paintbrush", our inaugural exhibit, addresses this fundamental relationship between the two forms.

Join us on Thursday, March 1st, for a groundbreaking, hands-on, interdisciplinary exploration of music and painting. James Gayles and Pablo Soto Campoamor will be guiding participants through an interactive workshop, experimenting with sound, rhythm, melody, and pencil, paintbrush, and paper. As we uncover the deep relationships between art and music, we come closer to understanding ourselves, and how we function as a community. At the end of the workshop all participants will be able to take their personal work of art home!
