BSL's 2-day course The Collaborative Enterprise: Driving Innovation with Others provides business professionals with practical know-how and strategic tools for building impactful coalitions, influencing global policy and driving best practice for sustainable collaboration and professional partnerships. Whether you work in a business setting or an industry association, you will enhance your understanding of how to maximize the impact of institutional collaboration with other entities.

Company approaches to ‘outsourcing’ their high-level policy advocacy and networks: what are the issues that are best tackled internally versus group or collaborative tactics?

OUR INSTRUCTORS

Margaret Flaherty

Margaret has spent the last 25 years building coalitions of leadership companies around the sustainable development agenda. For about 20 years she was the Chief Operating Officer/Chief of Staff at the Geneva-based World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Prior to that, she was with the International Chamber of Commerce / World Industry Council for the Environment in Paris, France.

She is currently working with some of the world’s most impactful business and industry coalitions, delivering strategic and tactical solutions that are measurable, scalable and innovative. She is a professor at the Business School Lausanne (BSL), a lecturer at the University of Geneva and a faculty member at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) of Zurich and Shanghai. She teaches at the undergraduate, Master’s and MBA levels, covering courses on business and sustainability including supply chain management, scenario planning, ecosystems valuation and reporting and accountability.

Margaret is currently a member of the Sustainability / Corporate Citizenship Advisory Boards of Abbott (USA) and held similar roles with Caterpillar (USA), Areva (France), AccountAbility (UK) and FSG (US & CH). She has a M.Sci from Tufts University (Boston) and a Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law (Boston). She has also completed Executive Education Programs at both Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard Business School. A Swiss, Irish and American national, she is based in Geneva, Switzerland, where she combines teaching with consulting on business and sustainability.

LOGISTICS

The 2-day program begins at 9:00am and finishes at 5:00pm on both days. Food will be provided and is included in the ticket price. The language of instruction is English. The program will take place at Business School Lausanne in Switzerland.

PROGRAM COST

Program cost for 2018 is CHF 2'018.

PAYMENT

Registration is not complete until you are paid in full by purchasing a ticket for this program.

DISCOUNTS

We currently offer the following discounts:

  • Groups of two to five individuals attending the same program from the same organization: The first participant pays full price and a 15% discount is extended for up to four additional participants. Please note that we do not allow more than five participants from one organization in any single open-enrollment program to encourage diversity of industry and experience in the classroom.
  • Individuals attending more than one program in a calendar year: You pay full price for the first program registration and receive a 10% discount for each additional program throughout the year.
  • Social entrepreneurs: Professionals working in the social entrepreneurship sector can benefit from a 20% discount. You need to submit evidence of your activity and a paragraph describing your experience.

REFUND POLICY

If you are unable to attend a program that you've registered and paid for, you are eligible for a full refund until 30 days prior to the event. Cancellation notices must be emailed to daniele.ticli@bsl-lausanne.ch. If a cancellation is received after the deadline above, no refunds will be issued, however the ticket can be transferred to another person on request. No-shows are non-refundable.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

The course is designed for professionals who are comfortable reading, speaking and listening to English, and who can actively participate in presentations and classroom discussions conducted in English. While we do not require proof of English language proficiency, we expect that you are fluent in English in order to fully understand and participate in all aspects of the program.
