THE COALITION GAMES
Welcome to the Coalition Games 2017.
We would like to invite you and your team to compete at The Coalition Games 2017 at The Cardiff City House of Sport on 16th-17th Spetember 2017. This competition is designed for a team comprising of 4 athletes, 2 male and 2 female. These athletes do not need to come from the same gym or affiliated CrossFit box for this competition.
The Coalition Games 2017 is an event that promises to inspire and excite on a level platform for everyone. This will be bigger and better, with a larger competition floor, more spectators, more team spots and more amazing programming by the team at Beyond The Barbell. Our goal is to make every athlete feel great on the competition floor so gather your team and come together as one ready for The Coalition Games 2017.
The Coalition Games will be held in Wales' capital city, Cardiff. The venue, Cardiff City House of Sport, boasts sublime sporting facilities, which are perfect for a huge weekend of competitive fitness. The competition will be held over 2 days on 16th-17th Spetember 2017. The aim of the competition is to be largly inclusive, however, some WODs in the early stages may have technically advanced movements. In the later stages of the event including the final, all team members may be required to participate in the workout and complete far more advanced workouts and movements. If at any point no team members are able to carry out a movement, they will be able to scale, but their score will not count. All teams will make it through to day 2 and complete at least 2 WOD's.
THE 160's MASTER DIVISION
The 160’s category was created to highlight and acknowledge the Teams with older athletes. Unlike many “Masters” events there will not be any scaled options. It is our belief that there are athletes aged 35 plus who have the ability to compete on a level playing field with the open category. The Coalition Games 2017 will have a dedicated leaderboard for every masters team and these teams will fight it out to reach the Masters Final on the Sunday.
All athletes must each sign a Coalition Games waiver. The document is available to download online and will need to be completed prior to the event. Once all athletes have signed a waiver, a member will be needed to physically register on behalf of the team on Friday night. If for some reason the waiver is not signed, the team will not be permitted to participate in the event.
