THE COALITION GAMES
Welcome to the Coalition Games 2016.
A Team competition comprised of 4 athletes, 2 male and 2 female of which do not need to come from the same gym or affiliated box.
Our sole vision is to make an elite level competition, which is accessible to the entire fitness community. There are countless athletes nationwide that train 4,5,6 or 7 days a week who do not have a top class competitive outlet. The Coalition Games as an event promises to inspire and excite on a level platform for everyone.
Our goal is to make every athlete feel great in an competitive environment so gather your team and come together as one as we want to be the reason for you to train ready for the Coalition Games.
The Coalition Games will be held in Wales' capital city, Cardiff. The venue, the Cardiff City House of Sport boasts sublime sporting facilities, which are perfect for functional workouts and group activities. Spread across two days this October, athletes register on Friday evening ready to throw down on Saturday and Sunday.
The aim of the competition is to be mostly inclusive, however some WODs in the early stages may have technically advanced movements but these will not have to be carried out by all team members. In the later stages of the event including the final, all team members may be required to participate in the workout. If at any point no team members are able to carry out a movement, they will be able to scale, but their score will not count.
The 160’s category was created to highlight and acknowledge the Teams with older athletes. Unlike many “Masters” events there will not be any scaled options. It is our belief that there are athletes aged 35 plus who have the ability to compete on a level playing field with the open category.
All athletes must each sign a Coalition Games waiver. The document is available to download online and will need to be completed prior to the event. Once all athletes have signed a waiver, a member will be needed to physically register on behalf of the team on Friday night. If for some reason the waiver is not signed, the team will not be permitted to participate in the event.
