Description

In support of the UN’s SDGs #13, Climate Action, RiverTides is hosting a Public Conversation to highlight successful efforts in climate action and to foster greater collaboration among regional organizations, governments, and individuals engaged in the climate crisis. The program will begin with presentations by:

  • Laura Weiland, Director of Omega’s Center for Sustainable Living, on Drawdown, an international comprehensive plan to reverse global warming
  • Amanda LaValle, Coordinator, Ulster County Department of Environment, on progress being made by local governments in addressing climate issues
  • Dan Shornstein, School Outreach Coordinator, The Ashokan Center on youth leadership and the work of The 2020 Youth Climate Action Summit

The second half of the program will be an open conversation with a focus on strategic next steps and how to reach populations not yet well engaged.
