Event description

Description

Mozart and Haydn lived through a time of dramatic innovation in the development of keyboard instruments. Although we think of them as composers of music for the piano, Haydn composed his keyboard sonatas when the harpsichord and clavichord were in wide use in Northern Europe. Mozart learned tunes on the harpsichord in his home as a small child, well before his pioneering career changed the musical landscape. Enjoy a program of early sonatas, variations and other works as well as beloved masterpieces by these two Classical giants, performed on the harpsichord by audience favorite Alberto Busettini.
