8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Doors open at 7:30 for coffee


Mark Anthony Rolo (Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa) is a journalist, filmmaker, and playwright, He has been a correspondent Indian Country Today, Executive Director of the Native American Journalists Association, and an editor of The Circle newspaper. His books include; My Mother is Now Earth, The Wonder Bull, and What's an Indian Woman to Do? And Other Plays.

Carter Meland, a White Earth descendant, teaches in the Department of American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota, and is a member of the Presidential American Indian Advisory Board at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. He writes fiction and essays about the ways Anishinaabe teachings can help make sense of the world around us. His novel, Stories for a Lost Child, was published by Michigan State University Press in March 2017.
