Description

Join us for the premiere of The Chronicle: The Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Community Center, a historical documentary about the creation and journey of the Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Center through the eyes of local community members and civil rights leaders and it’s cultural impact on African American lives in Shasta County. The evening will include monologues from the play “The Fight” illustrating the lives of Shasta County residents, boxer Eddie Machen, and Alvin Coffey, an African American Pioneer. Monologues are performed by Leah Tate, Fred Magee with music by Pat Karch.

The audience will have an opportunity to record their own personal stories and photos of the Martin Luther King Jr. Multicultural Center by the Shasta County Arts Council who will have a video booth and photo scanner which will be preserved at the Shasta Historic Society.

The event will be followed by a catered dinner by “Famous Daves’ to be held Sequoia Middle School Cafeteria.
