The Chelsea Symphony: Friday April 21 feat. Magrill + Vieuxtemps
Fri, April 21, 2017, 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM EDT
TCS resident composer Aaron Dai presents the world premiere of Early Morning Walk to open both nights on the April concert series. Friday's concert showcases two soloists: Mira Magrill premieres Concerto Fantastique for flute and orchestra by her father, composer Dr. Samuel Magrill, and Stephen McDougall Graham solos on Henri Vieuxtemps' Violin Concerto. The second half features two 20th-century classics: Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks and the Prokofiev "Classical" Symphony.
Conducted by Mark Seto and Reuben Blundell
TCS's eleventh season "Flight Paths" features music written by composers who have visited or immigrated to the United States of America. This season celebrates the diversity of musicians who have been inspired by, and made their mark on, this land we call home.
