The Seattle CFO Leadership Council Chapter
Thursday, April 25
4:30 PM to 5:15 PM Networking & Light Dinner | 5:15 PM to 6:30 PM Program
Stoel Rives, 600 University Street, Suite #3600, Seattle, WA

Program Description

Many CFOs function as de facto in-house counsel and can find the role overwhelming at times. We are fortunate to have one of the premier law firms, Stoel Rives, to provide an overview of legal challenges many companies are likely to face in 2019.

Stoel Rives legal experts will focus on wage and hour laws, pay equity, and negotiating contract terms. The program provides practical advice with trends/updates and real-life examples in key areas to help you limit your company’s risk. This is a great opportunity to learn from the experts!

OUR SPEAKERS:

Eric Bartsch has over twenty years’ experience working for commodity procurement, marketing, and food processing companies. Eric Bartsch’s practice is now divided among corporate finance, transaction, and commercial litigation matters. Eric has served as counsel for some of the leading food processing companies in the United States. He regularly assists clients with debt and equity financing, joint-venture formation, contracting, and litigation. Eric has overseen 1934 Act compliance, mergers and acquisitions, improvement of financial and contracting controls, capital formation and financing, and general commercial and appellate litigation.

Chris Wall is a trial lawyer in Stoel Rives’ Seattle office. He has successfully managed all phases of litigation, including multiple trials and appeals, in state and federal courts as well as in administrative forums. Chris uses insights from litigation to provide his clients with strategic advice on how to avoid litigation before it starts and resolve disputes in the most cost-effective manner. He focuses on class and mass actions, as well as labor issues, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and discrimination claims.

Karin Jones is a labor & employment law attorney in Stoel Rives’ Seattle office, where she provides practical advice to employers regarding a wide variety of workplace and personnel issues and helps them minimize the risk and impact of workplace problems. Karin has represented employers before administrative agencies and state and federal courts in litigation involving discrimination, harassment, reasonable accommodation, employee family and medical leave, wage and hour claims, workplace safety (WISHA/OSHA), and whistleblower complaints, among other workplace issues. In addition to her trial court practice, Karin draws on her prior experience as a law clerk at the Ninth Circuit to successfully represent clients in appellate litigation. Karin also provides services such as employee and supervisor training, employee handbook reviews, and workplace audits to help ensure employers’ compliance with the many employment laws applicable to their organizations.
