The Cellar Dwellers with Jamarr Johnson
Event Information
Description
The Cellar Dwellers uphold the tradition of quirky and offbeat San Francisco humor. Each Dweller is a professional comic with a unique voice. Some have Southern accents, some have Indian accents… you get the joke. They each call The Purple Onion home and a few even have their own apartments. Two nights a week, the Dwellers descend into the basement of Kells to test the brick and mortar foundation with uproarious laughter (some of which comes from the audience.) Their chief weapon is stand up comedy. Stand up comedy and Monty Python references. Two chief weapons. Audiences stay on the edge of their sitting chairs. Hecklers are destroyed in ways that would nauseate a Roman emperor. Come witness their meteoric rise to comedy stardom…Support local comedians! Show line-ups change every weekend. Tickets $9 + one drink minimum ($6 - you'll receive your drink ticket at the door.)
October 24-25: Special Guest Jamarr Johnson
Jamarr Johnson has played major clubs in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Canada. He has also performed for countless charitable events and helped to raise money for disaster relief. Jamarr even made a splash at a rare Dave Chappelle performance when Dave got a hold of his business card, read it aloud to the audience and got a huge laugh off Jamarr’s surprising punch line. Jamarr is a fan favorite on military bases not only because he speaks their language and feels their pain but because he keeps it real with out going wrong. Jamarr has made recent appearances in commercials, MTV, ABC’s Katie Show and NBC’s Dr. OZ show. He also writes for BizCastr.tv where he hosts a fitness reality show. Stay tuned for exciting things from this focused and talented performer.
