About this Event

An evening of politics and faith, food and drink especially for Catholics under 40. Admission is FREE, all food and drinks provided.

Come join a conversation about Catholics and the 2020 presidential election with John Gehring, director of the Catholic program for Faith in Public Life, as well as a writer for Commonweal, the National Catholic Reporter, and the Religion News Service. Three local panelists will respond to John's remarks before we open up a conversation with the whole audience--

  • Adrienne Alexander, director of intergovernmental relations for AFSCME Council 31
  • Michael Bayer, director of evangelization and adult formation for St. Clement Catholic Church
  • Raúl Zegarra, a Ph.D. candidate in the Divinity School at the University of Chicago

Doors open at 6:30. Live music will play, and hors d'oeurves available with beer and wine (for those over 21).

The program begins at 7:30.

After the program, stay for more music and hospitality, and to mingle with our speakers.

This event is sponsored by The Weal, Commonweal Magazine's reading group for Catholics under 40 seeking to explore a living faith while living in the world.
